As this year's Women's History Month comes to an end, I'd like to remind all my sisters to stay strong in your beliefs and keep striving for what you want your life to be. The women in history that fought for what they believed in has gotten us to where we are today and I am grateful for every right and freedom thanks to them. We owe it to their memory, to ourselves, and to future generations to keep fighting and standing for greatness, whatever that is for you.
I had a eye-opening conversation with one of our sisters tonight and she reminded me what I want for myself. Sometimes we get so busy living our daily lives and just getting by that we lose momentum toward achieving our ultimate goals. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But today I am grateful for the reminder that, "Life is a canvas. If you don't like the scene you're in right now, paint a new one."
Ultimately, I want to travel and learn about different cultures and societies. I say all the time how fortunate we are to live in this country. I want to experience life outside of my American bubble and become humbled in ways not possible in my current life. I'm drawn to living a simple life. I often threaten to leave everything and go live in a hut in some third-world country where I make my clothes, grow my food, and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Then I remember how much I love my comfy bed, hot shower, and going to my favorite lounge all dolled up to eat decadently prepared, overpriced food.
The truth of the matter is that I can have both of those worlds. We can do anything, we can have anything, we just have to create it! The world is continuing to change quickly and it is important for us as women to stay strong and united and stand for the world we want to live in. We create our reality with our thoughts, words, and actions. Be intentional. Be positive. Be kind. Girl Power!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
